DCCC RT annual meeting 2023 and first ever DESIRE user meeting: Interaction in a national forum is vital

80 participants gathered in Middelfart for two days of scientific discussions, plenary talks and networking.

Since the early days of the research centre, the annual meeting of DCCC Radiotherapy has been a focal point to follow activities, share knowledge and create new networks. This year was no exception – and although the funding period is now over, the DCCC RT management and steering committee aim to continue this annual and unique national forum for knowledge exchange.

As a new part of the programme, the DESIRE national user meeting kicked off the discussions with a specific focus on data and infrastructure for radiotherapy (read more about DESIRE here).

Another new initiative this year was a session organised by early career scientists, where they asked participants to rethink two projects; an inspirational session where they challenged everyone to come up with new perspectives. We also had a plenary talk on the status of Artificial Intelligence in radiotherapy by Ana María Barragán Montero from UCLouvain in Belgium.

Overall, the drive to keep collaborations and national projects ongoing was evident. Thank you to everyone who contributed in making a successful meeting. We hope to see you next year!
