UK: Research in particle therapy with protons and heavier ions. One of the main elements is to find out how particles change effect under their braking through the patient can be utilized best possible, and in this way give better treatment. This can be used for new treatment strategies such as "LET-painting" and so-called grating therapy. In addition, research in radiation dosimetry, not only for patient treatment but also for space travel as, for example, satellites encounter destructive corpuscular radiation in space.
